World Squash Officiating (WSO) are delighted to announce the allocation of referees for the XBOX PSA World Tour Finals 2023-2024. The XBOX PSA World Tour Finals will be held at the Boys and Girls Club Hidden Valley Field House in Bellevue and will feature the top eight male and female squash players on the planet.
To qualify for the tournament, players must have won either the PSA World Championships, one of the eight Platinum-level PSA World Tour events, or secured a top eight berth on the PSA World Tour Finals Leaderboard, meaning only the very best squash players in the world will battle for honours in Bellevue.
The XBOX PSA World Tour Finals is a unique tournament, with players being split into two groups of four across both the men’s and women’s events. A round-robin, best-of-three games format is used in the group stage, with the top two from each group qualifying for the knockout semi-finals.
The prestigious XBOX PSA World Tour Finals will take place on 18th-22nd June, with the selection of referees being a reflection of their outstanding performances when refereeing on the PSA World Tour. We are excited to have four continents represented in the tournament this year. The selected officials are as follows:
- Roy Gingell (Wales)
- Andrea Santamaria (England)
- Daniel Greco (Venezuela)
- Nathan Turnbull (Australia)
The team’s most recent appointments have seen them officiate some high-profile squash on the PSA World Tour. Roy and Andrea’s last outing was the recent CIB PSA World Championships, won by Diego Elias and Nouran Gohar. Daniel was last seen at Squash in the Land Presented by Greater Cleveland Squash 2024, while Nathan was most recently appointed at the City Tattersalls Group Australian Open 2024. We’re looking forward to seeing them in action as they referee at the PSA World Tour season closing tournament.
Head of WSO, Lee Drew, had this to say on the announcement of the allocation:
“Participating in the World Tour Finals as the season’s grand finale is a tremendous honour for any referee. It serves as a testament to each individual’s dedication and hard work throughout the season to be selected for the officiating team. The World Tour Finals presents significant challenges, with high stakes as the tour reaches its peak. The assembled team boasts a well-balanced mix of referees from around the globe.”
